About Andrea Hauser, Homeopath

Andrea Hauser, BA(H.Kin.), DHMHS

Andrea is a Registered Homeopath with the College of Homeopaths of Ontario (#15041).  Her areas of expertise include classical homeopathy and live blood microscopy.  Andrea has sat on the Board of Dierectors for both the College of Homeopaths (CHO) and the Ontario Homeopathic Association (OHA).  She  has also been a part of the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicines' teaching faculty since 2011.  After many years of in-depth study in the areas of health, science, homeopathy and nutrition, Andrea has found her way back to the familiar settings of her hometown Kitchener-Waterloo.

Andrea completed her undergraduate education at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) where she graduated on the Deans Honour List with a degree in Honours Kinesiology.  While taking a course on complementary & alternative medicine Andrea discovered her enthusiasm for homeopathy.

“Growing up surrounded by the Western medicine mentality I always thought I would become a doctor.  But as soon I learned more about Homeopathy and its rich history, sound philosophy and respect as a science as well as an art, I knew Homeopathy was my true calling.  I knew this was the best way I could truly help people.”

Andrea continued her education at the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine (OCHM) where she graduated on the Deans Honour List in both Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences.  Andrea spoke at graduation as class Valedictorian and was awarded special recognition for her tremendous fundraising achievements and contributions while acting as Student Council President.

“OCHM provides the highest level of homeopathic education in Ontario.  I was privileged to learn from some of the best homeopaths in Canada, India, New Zealand and the United States.  OCHM has played an integral role in the regulation of homeopathy due to the school's belief in high standards, which includes an education in health and medical sciences.”

While attending OCHM Andrea completed over 1500 hours in the student clinic where she treated patients of all ages with a wide range of health concerns such as eczema, IBS, arthritis, diabetes, depression, anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia and cancer.  She also took the initiative to preceptor with several homeopaths in Ontario as well as in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Moreover, while attending a seminar on Children & Homeopathy with world-renowned homeopath Dr. Sunil Anand (India), Andrea was selected to takeover as primary casetaker and work through correspondence with Dr. Anand on his Toronto cases.

“Dr. Sunil Anand is a dynamic and inspiring teacher of homeopathy who has been influential in my personal success in treating children.  I have always had a passion for working with children.  I grew up working at summer camps and daycares as well as teaching swimming, cheerleading and dance to kids of all ages.  Children express themselves without reservation, which is exactly what is needed to make a good homeopathic prescription.  Not to mention their vitality is so strong and therefore very responsive to homeopathic treatment.  There is nothing like seeing a child return to optimum health and continue their growth and development without introducing suppressive medications.  Treating children with homeopathy is the first step in my opinion, to a happier and healthier population.”

Andrea’s passions besides helping people of all ages improve their quality of life through homeopathic medicine include promoting healthy living through nutrition and recreation.  Andrea prefers to focus on healthy eating & living as apposed to supplementation.

“I believe in moderation in all areas of life as opposed to avoidance, elimination and excessive supplementation.  Once you address the root cause of your dis-ease, allow your body a chance to heal, and return to a balanced state of health through homeopathy, your own body should be able deal with anything as long as you practice moderation.  A life with massive diet restrictions and a hamper full capsules to swallow is not truly living.”

Andrea’s main areas of interest working with children and youth, mental-emotional concerns such as anxiety and depression, as well as Autoimmune Disease and  inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, IBS, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
